EGYPT – Talabat Egypt, the region’s leading food delivery and quick commerce company, has entered into a corporate responsibility partnership with Ibrahim Badran Foundation (IBF) to facilitate donations to healthcare in remote villages through its platform.
Founded in 2014, Ibrahim Ahmed Badran Foundation aims to provide high-quality healthcare to remote Egyptian areas as well as partner with organizations such as talabat to achieve better health across the country.
The foundation has so far successfully organized more than 600 medical convoys in 120 villages in 16 Governorates across Egypt and examined more 395,000 patients in rural areas.
In addition to that, it has received help from more than 1600 volunteers alongside the support of its medical team who specialize in more than 15 medical specialties to carry out 1200 life-changing successful surgeries.
The partnership between Talabat and IBF aims to use talabat’s platform to facilitate Ibrahim Badran’s medical care and treatment services along with equipping and running medical convoys and clinics in remote Egyptian areas.
Talabat also allows customers to donate to finance medical examinations, purchase medical supplies and contribute to paying for needed surgeries for people in marginalized communities.
Consumers can donate to Ibrahim Badran Foundation on talabat by downloading the app on the iOS App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei App Gallery.
Managing Director of talabat Egypt Hadeer Shalaby reaffirmed that the company values the health and wellness of Egyptians thus it was committed to enable its customers to have a positive impact on remote communities from the comfort of their homes.
“We are proud to be cooperating with Ibrahim Badran Foundation to use our technology for good philosophy in an effort to make quality medical care accessible to all communities,” she added.
She further hoped that donations facilitated through the talabat platform will enable the Ibrahim Badran Foundation to continue their on-ground work in areas in need of high care standards.
Talabat has delivered hundreds of millions of food orders, grocery items and other products over the years to its customers in nine countries throughout the Middle East and North Africa region.
Earlier, the delivery company facilitated the donation of over 340,000 meals and 44,000 medicine donations in 2020 to those in need as well as donated over 1.3million euros (US$1.44 million) to charity with the help of its partners and customers.
It also supported Al Orman charity organization in its journey to assist communities in need across several avenues such as eradicating hunger and achieving sustainable development in Egyptian cities and villages in March 2022.
