UNFPA supports Ministry of Health with equipment critical in building a strong healthcare work force

SIERRA LEONE – The United Nations Population Fund- UNFPA has donated to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation medical equipment critical to supporting emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC service provision) and in the screening and management of cervical cancer. The equipment donated includes cryotherapy apparatus, carbon dioxide gas cylinders, fetal dopplers, hemocoel, sterilizers, vaginal speculums- different types and sizes, forceps- different types and sizes, instrument trays, and gynecological models. UNFPA partners with AMREF to supply portable ultrasound technology in Kenya

KENYA – A partnership between UNFPA, AMREF International University and the Phillips Foundation, has made available portable ultrasound technology and the training to go with it to midwives from far-flung health centers in remote parts of Kenya.
