UAE – Sukoon, formerly known as Oman Insurance Company, and Aster DM Healthcare have jointly launched new health insurance plans designed to meet the needs of large to mid-sized corporates as well as individuals in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The joint statement said: “The two new health insurance plans, ‘Shield Saver’ and ‘Shield Saver Plus’ have been designed with customer convenience and accessibility in mind.”

Both plans will allow members access to 24/7 virtual care with a 0% co-pay on GP consultations, lab reports, radiology, and prescribed medicines through the myAster mobile app.

The partnership will leverage Aster DM Healthcare’s strong geographical presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and India to ensure clients have access to quality care.

The move follows Aster’s launch of its latest full-fledged version of myAster app in the United Arab Emirates.

myAster app is the GCC region’s first integrated healthcare platform providing access to hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, and pharmacies and it provides seamless access to the full spectrum of Aster healthcare services.

It will benefit UAE customers by creating a unique proposition as an alternative to existing medical coverages available in the market.

Under the agreement, policy holders registered under the health insurance plans will have access to a wide range of features such as virtual consultations coupled with financial benefits.

The two innovative healthcare plans offer a reduced co-payment to customers when they visit preferred medical providers,” Sukoon and Aster DM Healthcare announced in a statement.

In addition to financial wellness, customers will receive substantial cash discounts across a range of elective procedures that are not covered in their plans as well as discounts at Aster Pharmacy and Aster Optical retail outlets across the UAE.

The new health insurance plans are expected to provide comprehensive coverage and significant savings for all plan members allowing them to access high-quality healthcare at an affordable cost,” the companies claimed.

The health insurance plans will ensure corporate employees and individuals have access to affordable quality health services they need without financial hardship.

The offerings also seek to tackle gaps in the UAE’s health system facing corporate employees and individuals as they make positive steps to improve their physical well-being.

The partnership between Sukoon and Aster will build on the success of their previous partnership focused on catering to the healthcare needs of UAE customers and ensuring hassle-free quality care.

In her address, Alisha Moopen, Deputy Managing Director at Aster DM Healthcare, said: “We have taken this collaboration one step further with two new plans that have been designed to provide affordable insurance with innovative access to technology-backed healthcare.”

She underscored that the collaboration aligns with Aster’s commitment to delivering clinical expertise and unparalleled services at a competitive price.

The move comes a few days after Aster Pharmacy, the retail arm of Aster DM Healthcare, partnered with talabat UAE to enable prescription medicine purchases.

Aster Pharmacy has also partnered with Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital Dewa, to enhance the healthcare system in the UAE.
