INDIA – One of India’s leading multinational pharmaceutical companies, Pfizer India, has rolled out an advanced medical application for patients dubbed ‘Pfizer PAP India’ with an aim to broaden access to its innovative drugs.

In a press release, Pfizer announced that the newly launched medical application is designed to ease and fast-track enrollment to Pfizer’s Patient Access Programmes (PAP) while improving the user experience.

The Pfizer Patient Assistance Program provides free medicines to eligible patients in need. It is a joint program of Pfizer Inc. and the Pfizer Patient Assistance Foundation.

The mobile application, available on both iOS and Android platforms, is designed to support patients who would like to be a part of the company’s Patient Access Programme,” the industrial giant stated.

The company outlined that the online platform offers eligible patients therapy assistance based on a valid prescription by the treating physician and the submission of specific required documents by the patient.

In addition, enrolled patients will be able to access all the medical services directly and seamlessly by using the mobile application that will be executed by Tata 1 MG on behalf of Pfizer India.

Satyen Amin, Director- Commercial Channel and Market Access, Pfizer India, underscored that the Pfizer PAP India app offers patients a one-stop solution for therapy assistance at the touch of a button.

Patients can enroll in the programme by uploading the required documents. The confirmation of enrollment into the programme, however, is subject to the patient’s medical eligibility, and verification of required documents.” Amin added.

Commenting on the launch, Dr. Rahul Bhargava, Director & HOD – Department of Hematology & BMT, Fortis hospital Gurgaon noted that through Pfizer’s PAP app, patients can now seamlessly navigate their health journey on a single platform where they are enrolled.

He further expressed his belief that the medical platform for patients will benefit the healthcare ecosystem as well as the patients.

We believe that access to medicines and medication adherence determines treatment effectiveness. These are some of the most useful interventions for improving health outcomes,” said Dr. Bhargava.

He concluded that improving health outcomes was only possible through regular patient monitoring and access to innovative medicines.
