GHANA – Ghanaian healthtech company mPharma has strategically partnered with global healthcare giant TytoCare to enable pharmacies to provide patients with enhanced remote care through in-depth physical examinations.
TytoCare is a telehealth company using Artificial Intelligence to transform primary care by putting health in the hands of consumers through seamlessly connecting people to clinicians to provide the best virtual home examination and diagnosis solutions.
The company’s solutions are designed to enable a comprehensive medical exam from any location through a hand-held, all-in-one tool for examining the heart, lungs, skin, ears, throat, abdomen, and body temperature.
TytoCare also has a digital health platform for sharing exam data, conducting live video exams and scheduling visits along with a cloud-based data repository with analytics.
Moreover, the platform has built-in guidance technology and machine learning algorithms to ensure accuracy and ease of use for patients and insights for healthcare providers.
TytoCare partnership with mPharma aims to support community pharmacies in Africa in providing affordable medical products to more populations as well as easing access to healthcare services through a virtual doctor’s office where they can conduct remote appointments.
The partnership calls for the integration of the TytoCare digital solutions into mPharma’s telehealth offerings to improve access to physicians and specialists in remote communities across Africa.
mPharma will leverage TytoCare’s telehealth solution to enable providers to transform remote locations such as pharmacies, schools, nursing homes, home care facilities, clinics, employee work sites and urgent care facilities into connected care sites.
Under the deal, TytoCare’s platform will enable remote physical exams of the heart, skin, ears, throat, abdomen and lungs as well as measurement of heart rate and body temperature.
It will also allow doctors and specialists to gain the vital clinical data they require to monitor, diagnose, and treat patients remotely.
Co-Founder of mPharma Gregory Rockson reaffirmed that the partnership will help bridge the gap in the primary healthcare space in Africa since digital health solutions remain key in solving Africa’s primary healthcare challenges.
“We have seamlessly implemented our virtual doctor consultation program, mutti doctor, recording over 8,000 consultations across our partner mutti pharmacies since we launched last year,” he said.
In 2021, the companies entered into a digital health solutions partnership with over 8,000 people examined and treated by mPharma using TytoCare’s platform so far, covering 35 pharmacies across Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, and Nigeria.
