INDIA – Honeywell has announced the signing of a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Narayana Hrudayalaya Limited (Narayana Health) to identify, assess, and collaborate on digital transformation opportunities for the latter.
As a result, Narayana Health will be able to provide technology-driven, affordable, and accessible healthcare to all.
The Memorandum of Understanding is subject to final agreements between Honeywell and Narayana Health.
Honeywell’s Advanced Sensing Technologies (AST) healthcare business leverages the company’s global sensor leadership to provide devices and software for hospitals, clinics, and elderly care facilities to improve clinical communication, collaboration, and coordination.
“Sensors and digital technology will disrupt health care delivery. Narayana Healthcare is delighted to work with Honeywell to develop digital technologies for making health care safer, more accessible, and more affordable,” said Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, chairman and executive director, Narayana Healthcare.
According to the terms of the agreement, Honeywell and Narayana Health will collaborate on co-innovation and the introduction of new products, establish technology development centers, co-create joint capabilities in technology development and research.
The two will also develop fire safety codecs that ensure an end-to-end life safety system to make hospitals safer.
Honeywell, as a technology partner, will also assist Narayana Health in improving and optimizing its digital processes, as well as providing employee training.
The healthcare industry is constantly evolving to meet increasing regulatory pressures while maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
COVID-19 emphasized the importance of increasing efficiencies in healthcare delivery so that fewer personnel can do more on-site.
The expansion of telemedicine has also provided new avenues for hospitals to manage patient care. Healthcare providers frequently struggle to develop the best strategy for staying ahead of these changes.
Honeywell launched its Real-Time Health Monitoring System (RTHMS) last year to help meet some of these challenges.

This solution combines hardware and software to improve care delivery, increase healthcare worker productivity, and improve process efficiency.
RTHMS can reduce hospital administrative tasks by 35% by digitizing and automating critical tasks.
