MOROCCO – Helios Investment Partners, leader in private equity in Africa with more than US$3.6 billion in assets under management, has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in the largest Moroccan group in the MedTech sector.

This partnership will play a central role in helping the group to realize their growth strategy, improve service delivery while consolidating their leadership position in Morocco and continuing to expand networks and expertise in new markets in Africa.

The consolidated group operates in the distribution of medical and IVD (in vitro diagnostic) equipment as well as the production of pharmaceutical products through associate companies.

These companies are; Techniques Science Santé (“T2S”), IM Alliance, Cyclopharma and Binarios collectively form the group setting trends in the MedTech sector.

This consolidation of the four companies today forms the largest MedTech group in the region, well positioned to support the strong growth potential of an expanding market in Francophone Africa.

Under the leadership of Mr. Abderraouf Sordo, the Group has become the main distributor and provider of maintenance services in the medical device sector in French-speaking Africa.

Over the past decades, the Group has established itself as a reliable and essential partner for public and private health centers, supplying state-of-the-art medical devices and consumables for critical segments such as radiology, oncology, cardiology and in vitro diagnostics.

The Company is currently three times the size of its closest competitor in the region, with sales exceeding US$100 million.

Thanks to long-standing distribution agreements with leading equipment manufacturers (“OEMs”), such as GE Healthcare, Varian, B. Braun, Zeiss, bioMérieux and other international leaders, the Group supplies devices and high-end medical equipment to a large number of public and private health establishments.
