INDIA – The 2,400-bed Amrita Hospital, the biggest private sector hospital in India spread across 133 acres of land in Faridabad, is all set to begin operations in August 2022.

This would be the second large-scale Amrita Hospital in India after the iconic 1,200-bed Amrita Hospital in Kochi, Kerala, that was established 25 years ago by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math.

The hospital at Faridabad is located at Sector 88, reported BioSpectrum.

Slated to become operational in stages, the hospital will have a total built-up area of 10 million square feet, including a 14-floor- tower that will feature crucial medical facilities and patient areas

It is envisaged that the ultra-modern Amrita Hospital at Faridabad would be one of India’s largest green-building healthcare projects with a low carbon footprint.

It will initially begin operations with 500 beds upon its opening in August this year. In two years, this number will rise to 750 beds, and further to 1,000 beds in five years.

It will feature robotics, haptic, surgical-medical simulation center across four floors. In addition, training of medical students and doctors will be a strong focus area.  

The facility will also host a medical college and the country’s biggest allied health sciences campus, the hospital said.

It is envisaged that the ultra-modern Amrita Hospital at Faridabad would be one of India’s largest green-building healthcare projects with a low carbon footprint.

The hospital campus will also feature a helipad for quick transport of patients and a 498-room guest house to enable attendants of patients to stay.

The 81 specialties at the hospital will include eight centers of excellence, such as oncology, cardiac sciences, neurosciences, gastro-sciences, renal sciences, bone diseases & trauma, transplants, and mother & child.

Once completely operational, the hospital will have about 10,000 employees including over 800 doctors.

Further to that, Aster DM Healthcare has announced the launch of its latest integrated advanced healthcare facility at Trivandrum in Kerala.

The hospital will be a 550-bed unfit and will enclose 5.76 lakh sq. ft (576000 square ft) built-up area excluding the provision for 1 lakh sq. ft (100,000 square ft) for multilevel car parking space.

The company’s investment will be in the tune of 500 crores+ (over US$64 million) for the entire project, with the first phase having a capacity of 350 beds is expected to be operational by FY26.

This super-specialty facility will house several centres for clinical excellence that will cater to the functions of cardiac sciences, organ transplant, neurosciences, orthopedics, oncology, urology & nephrology, gastro sciences, and woman & child wellness.
