UAE – Medical care giant Al Dhafra Hospitals has set up specialized clinics at its two primary health facilities in Abu Dhabi that will provide integrated mental health services and care management.

With close to 20 different areas of specialities, Al Dhafrah Hospitals are committed to delivering a wide range of diagnostics that cater to the needs of its patients.

The medical institution, operated by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), encompasses six hospitals: Madinat Zayed, Ghayathi, Marfa, Delma, Sila, and Liwa.

In addition, the institution includes four clinics which are Bida Mutawa, Abu Al-Abyad Clinic, Sir Bani Yas Clinic, and Al Dhafra Family Medicine Center.

The leading healthcare provider in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has opened specialized clinics at the Al Dhafra Family Medicine Center in Madinat Zayed Hospital and Ghayathi Hospital for consultations and mental health treatment services.

In a press release, Al Dhafra Hospitals said: “A group of renowned doctors, qualified to deal with various psychological consultations in the Al Dhafra region, will lead the clinic with the aim of providing dedicated care within the mental health sphere.”

The medical institution has opened its doors to all patients regardless of age including adults, adolescents, and children with behavioural and emotional disorders seeking mental health support and treatment confidentially.

The new clinics will provide adult mental health services with a key focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of psychological and behavioural disorders that affect adults.

Speaking on the launch, Mental Health Specialist Dr. Amna Khamis Al Mismari underscored: “The therapeutic services provided to those seeking the treatment are confidential, and the patient’s information is kept under the utmost discretion due to doctor-patient confidentiality.”

She highlighted that therapeutic services offered to children and adolescents will focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of developmental disorders and autism, as well as emotional and behavioural problems.

The clinic accommodates the elderly and provides geriatric treatment services, focusing on patterns, causes and effects, medical factors, and social and psychological issues,” the consultant psychiatrist stated.

Moreover, Dr. Amna pointed out that the provision of mental health services to the residents of Al Dhafra initially began three years ago through the use of telepsychiatry services.

In coordination with the Al Maqtaa and Al Zafaranah Health Care Centers, a unique project was developed to facilitate access to mental health services for patients in the Al Dhafra region,” she said.

Dr. Amna revealed that with the success of the pilot project, the decision was made to open a specialized clinic in Al Dhafra Center for consultations and treatment services available to all cases.

In addition, the newly launched specialized clinics at the Al Dhafra Family Medicine Center will work closely with the Al Maqtaa and Al Zafaranah Health Care Centers to provide mental health services to the residents of Al Dhafra.
