KENYA – Airtel Kenya has partnered with e-pharmacy platform, MyDawa, to enable easy and fast access to medication.
This partnership is meant to enable users to access the MyDawa website or app without incurring additional data charges. Users will also be able to use Airtel Money services to pay for medicine, health, wealth, and personal care items.
“We are happy to partner with Airtel, one of the top telecommunications service providers in the country, to ensure that their subscribers are able to access quality medical products in a convenient and affordable way,” Tony Wood, MyDawa’s managing director.
This partnership is remarkably important seeing that, Airtel Kenya, a subsidiary of Airtel Africa, is the second largest telecommunications services provider in Kenya after Safaricom PLC.
It has an estimated 16.2 million subscribers of the total 59.8 million subscribers in the Kenyan market equivalent to 27.2% market share.
Wood also added that, “Free access to MyDawa’s services with no data charges helps people to stay at home and ease the financial burden on those who may already have seen family budgets squeezed. This benefit combined with no delivery charges within Nairobi and the option for microfinance amongst the payment options are all focused on increasing access to essential services whilst they stay safe at home.”
Guarantee to access a wider market scope through this partnership will help MyDawa improve service delivery to over 800,000 subscribers as well as enabling them reach out to many more.
